JA adds two more business leaders to Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame
Junior Achievement of Delaware celebrated the 25th year of the Business Leaders Hall of Fame by inducting two prominent Delaware leaders.
2014 Hall of Fame Chair Nick Lambrow of M&T Bank presided as Verino Pettinaro and Robert J. Laskowski joined the ranks of the Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame.
Here’s how Junior Achievement described the accomplishments of the new honorees:
Verino Pettinaro, who made his mark with Pettinaro Enterprises, has been involved with real estate in and around Delaware since 1964. His company has designed, built and currently manages more than 5 million square feet of commercial structures and residential communities.
The company’s commercial portfolio includes retail and industrial buildings in more than 50 locations in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. The residential portfolio consists of approximately 2,000 existing apartment homes located in Delaware, Maryland and Florida, as well as new resort-styled homes in Bethany Bay and the Pointe at Brandywine Park.
Robert J. Laskowski is the transitioning CEO of Christiana Care Health Systems. He is a nationally recognized leader in health care transformation. He piloted a growth course that has firmly established Christiana Care as a trusted and valued community health care resource with a national reputation for quality, safety and innovation.
Dr. Laskowski has achieved this growth while remaining highly focused on the hospital’s mission of service as a not-for-profit health system. A board-certified internist specializing in geriatric medicine, he is a professor of clinical medicine at Jefferson Medical College and a senior fellow at the Jefferson School of Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Since 1990, the Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame has recognized outstanding business leaders whose strategic management, invention, and innovation have positively impacted workforce and economic development in the region.
Sponsors for this year’s event included: M&T Bank, Squatch Creative, Delmarva Power, K2 Advisory Services, LLC, Brown & Brown of Delaware LLC, The Dow Chemical Company, Pettinaro Enterprises, Christiana Care Health System, The Sallie Mae Fund and Deerfield.
Junior Achievement of Delaware is accepting nominations for the 2015 Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame until May 1.
