Founded in 1964, the Construction Department of Pettinaro was literally the foundation upon which the company was built. A carpenter by trade, Verino Pettinaro began the business in a 200 SF garage, and by 2011 the corporation has designed, constructed and managed over 4.5 million SF of office, retail and industrial structures. An additional 1.5 million SF is either approved or pending approval for future development. Included in the portfolio is the one mile Riverwalk and the Justison Street infrastructure which, along with over a dozen other redevelopment properties owned, developed and managed by Pettinaro, has single-handedly shaped the Wilmington Riverfront to what it is today.
Not long after the inception of Pettinaro, Verino had the instinct and foresight to add an architecture and design department to his growing company. This type of thinking was cutting edge for the time and continues today as Pettinaro remains one of the few successful development/ management companies to have in-house design services.
Decades later, these award-winning departments still offer support to all other departments within the Pettinaro Corporation as well as consulting with tenants for their architectural/ construction needs. Dedication to customer service and commitment to helping tenants achieve the best design for their needs and budget are top priority.
Pettinaro has a very diverse portfolio consisting of a broad range of projects including: the 125,000 SF Riverfront Arts Center that was constructed in just 6 calendar months; the Flat Rock Dam at the Schuylkill River; The Pointe at Brandywine Park, a $40 million, 56 unit luxury residential project; the 280,000 SF Christina Crescent Building; the 155,000 SF Star Building; 168 corporate relocation units at Greenville Towers and over 2,000 multi-family apartments.
Pettinaro has the knowledge and capability to take a parcel of undeveloped land through the development process which encompasses all phases of engineering, plan approval, permit acquisition and ultimately, construction and management. Its clientele ranges from 1,500 SF “mom & pop” stores to high profile firms requiring 250,000 SF of state of the art office space. With an emphasis on energy efficiency and pleasing aesthetics, Pettinaro offers all services under one roof. The firm’s design approach is from the owner’s perspective and focuses on low maintenance and long term sustainability. This convenience provides an efficient and enjoyable experience for the client.
